The tap tone of the Brazilian was loose and full. I felt it needed the Sitka to help bring out the mids. I do not think of Sitka as a lesser wood. In fact it is the strongest tone wood per weight, so we are allowed to make the top thinner and more responsive. Too bad with all the mis-information from people selling Carpathian, German, Lutz ... (which all have their place and are especially helpful to the young builder trying to learn to get their tone) that the fabulous Sitka gets thought of as a “lesser" wood. Prove it? Just listen to that guitar! The power of a 30 year old guitar with the crispness of a guitar just strung up along with the often forgotten midrange.
